Volunteer Opportunities at RPBO
RPBO is volunteer-run and almost entirely volunteer-staffed. Volunteers can work at the banding sites doing a variety of tasks, or off-site on activities such as serving on the RPBO board of directors, bird bag sewing, net repair, fundraising, or public presentations. If you would like to volunteer at Rocky Point Bird Observatory the following documents will be of interest to you:
What Every RPBO Volunteer Needs to Know - a detailed description of how to get there, what to expect, and what will be expected of you if you wish to help at a banding site. All volunteers at the Rocky Point site are also required to be familiar with DND Fire and Safety Procedures.
If you wish to participate in field work please fill out our online Volunteer Application Form. You will receive a reply from our volunteer coordinator. If you prefer, there is also a PDF version, suitable for printing. If you wish to volunteer in any other capacity, please send an email to volunteer@rpbo.org.
If you wish to volunteer for the Hummingbird Project of BC, you may send a request directly to hummingbirds@rpbo.org.
**
Please note that volunteers for our station at Rocky Point Ammunition Depot must be approved by the Department of National Defense. This can take up to six weeks, so please submit your application well ahead of time. Volunteering at non-DND sites can be arranged with less notice.

You can also email volunteer@rpbo.org or call Volunteer Coordinator, Rick Schortinghuis at 250-885-2454 to be added to the schedule.
