Choosing Bird Friendly Native Plants For Your Garden

The following tool was developed by Rocky Point Bird Observatory to help gardeners in the Pacific Northwest choose native plants for their gardens that also attract birds. The information in this system is likely incomplete but will be amended over time as more information becomes available.

Plants listed in this tool are ones that are native to the Pacific Northwest at large, they may not be native to your particular area. Care should be taken to ensure you choose a plant that is native to your area.

Please note that there are many factors that influence whether or not a particular species will visit your yard. Choosing a suitable plant is one such factor but the local abundance of the species, their habitat requirements and other items also factor into the equation.
