Our school programs can be booked at any time of year, but work especially well in spring. Programs are approximately 90 minutes long, although we are very flexible.

Where is it offered?
We come to you!  We require a classroom space for hands-on exploration, and a nearby green space (if possible) to enjoy a local bird walk.

How much does it cost?
All programs are by donation. We recommend $75-$100.

Fall Field Trip Education Program

We offer unique field trip opportunities for grades K-12 to engage students in science and nature through a visit to our bird banding station.

Pedder Bay School

What is it?
Through this program, students will get to see real scientific monitoring and research in progress, while learning more about their local bird species. Designed for all ages, this unique field trip opportunity invites students to rotate through stations where they go on a guided bird walk, visit our banding station to see wild birds being banded, and explore our touch table which includes nests, eggs, and other specimens.

When is it offered?
Programs take place at our publicly-accessible bird banding station on the property of the Pedder Bay RV Resort and Marina at 925 Pedder Bay Drive – approximately a 40-minute drive from downtown Victoria. Meet in the grassy area beside the parking lot. Please note that field trips take place entirely outdoors.
