2026 Bird Monitoring and Banding Workshop

Field Component: March 20, 21 & 22, 2026
Join Rocky Point Bird Observatory for an exciting opportunity to learn the fundamentals of bird monitoring and banding in our comprehensive introductory course!
This year, the lecture component will be online, taking place March 14 & 15, 2026.
Participants who register for the full workshop will join us March 20, 21 & 22, 2026 for hands-on experience, including:
- Developing bird ID skills using lab specimens
- Conducting mist netting and bird banding with trained professionals
- Learning bird safety, ethics, and data collection
The field component will be held in Victoria, BC (exact location to be confirmed).
- Limited to 18 participants for in-person field sessions
- Up to 40 participants can join the online lectures
- Discounts available for those registering for both components, RPBO members, and students
This course is open to all experience levels.
